Welcome to Shipyard!

Celebrating the launch of Shipyard's new blog

Welcome to the brand-new Shipyard blog! This is our inaugural post. Be sure to check back regularly — this blog will keep you up to speed with all the exciting things going on behind the scenes here at Shipyard, including news, milestones, events, breakthroughs, and much more.

If you missed it, we closed a seed round in the fall with our awesome backers at Heavybit, Array, Work-Bench, and Contour Ventures. Since then, we have been hard at work growing our product and our team.

My name is Natalie and I am Shipyard’s summer associate. I’m a Computer Science student with enthusiasm for art, design, and other creative domains. This summer, I am working remotely from San Francisco and collaborating with the Shipyard team on a series of fascinating new endeavors. Working with Shipyard has enabled me to combine my passion for programming with my enthusiasm for marketing, analysis, and strategizing.

In my free time, I enjoy coding hobby projects, radio DJing, and skiing (weather permitting). I like trivia, crossword puzzles, curating playlists, and creating digital art of all sorts. Three of my major summer goals (in no particular order) are: make a cool 3D exploration game in Unity, set up a webapp with SQL, and learn how to rollerblade. In the CS domain, I’m interested in specializing in software/game development or machine learning.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the talented Shipyard community, and I am looking forward to sharing some of the interesting things we will accomplish here in the coming months.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

-Natalie
